NEW: FROM LOST GEMZ OF WUKI PACK

I don't really think 4th Disciple need no longer introduction here, but a few interesting poiints can be made. He first met up with The RZA when the latter lived in 4th and about half of Killarmy's home of Steubenville, Ohio for a period of time - spreading knowledge about the NOI and their 12 jewels. 4th Disciple, who was a superb producer in his own right, was soon invited to be a part of the Wu-Elementz and in 1994 became the first producer to work on a Wu-Tang Clan solo album besides RZA when he got a co-producer credit for Method Man's "Sub Crazy". It was first in 1997 that his name really started to ring bells amongst hip-hop heads, as he got the chance to provide no less than five stand out cuts on the multi-platinum selling "Wu-Tang Forever". This was soon followed by the release of "Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars", the '97 debut of 4th's own group Killarmy, which was featured six emcees, made up of members hailing from both Sreubenville and NYC. Aside from two The RZA beats, 4th Disciple produced the album in its entirety and arranged and molded it in to a dark, haunting sonic masterpiece. It was these two releases that once and for all solidified his name as a genius producer with a unique sound vision.

Besides his work with Wu-Tang Clan and its many affiliates, 4th produced albums worth of material for lesser known artists that unfortunately never saw the light of the day (another day I'll make a post on The Orphanage crew). One such project in particular was the immaculate "Crime & Punishment in America" starring the mysterious Ohio native One Man. Not much information is available on either the album or the artist, and while he's not the sharpest rhymer 4th recorded with, his mixture of political, afro-centric rhymes, and heartfelt, deeply personal lyrics more than makes up for any shortcomings on the technical side of things. Production wise, 4th Disciple's vintage mid-'90s sound is quickly recognized with all of its trademarks - breakneck drums, multi-layered tracks often incorporating string sections and music with symphonic qualities, avoiding the typical funk and soul grooves commonly associated with '90s boom bap - giving the music an epic feel in creating a sort of hip-hop symphony. Together these two go together like you wouldn't believe - peep the haunting center piece of the album, "Black Sheep", where 4th's saxophone driven beat and One Man's brutally honest lyrics about growing up hard together creates images and feelings as clear as any cinema will produce.

There's little info on when this in reality was recorded, or even if it originally was intended as an album, but the information sheet released with the CD states that at least parts of the music found here were recorded in 1994. This means it predates the Killarmy debut and "Forever" joints by three years, going back to a time where really the only released 4th production was N-Tyce & Meth's "Hush Hush Tip", which was co-produced by RZA. The then unknown 4th's unconventional production style, and One Man's personal experience as a poor black man in America could not have been an easy sale to whatever mountain climbing A&R they might have shopped the album too, but it makes it clear why RZA made sure 4th Disciple were included in the Wu-Tang fold.

There's also a chance that the album was recorded but lost in 4th's vaults, until it was found around the year 2006, considering the release of a very limited edition digital release of the album in 2007, made available together with another nine track mini-LP of unreleased productions entitled "The Best Of 740: Unreleased Classics" . The latter is getting a proper re-release this year but the, in my opinion, superior "Crime & Punishment in Ameirca" is still not available in any official capacity. This is something no 4th Disciple and/or Killarmy fan should allow themeselves to miss out on hearing, so make sure to grab the free download below

REUP:  Killah Priest and 4th Disciple are a couple of Wu-Tang Clan affiliates who have always put the quality of the brand over any type of notoriety. Both sharply skilled artists instantly attracted fans for closing out GZA’s classic Liquid Swords in style on the song “B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth).”

Shortly after, Killah Priest went on to drop Wu-adjacent projects and join the “original Slaughterhouse” b.k.a. the HRSMN supergroup alongside Kurupt, Ras Kass and Canibus, and 4th Disciple would spend a chunk of the 90s getting confused for RZA for the groundwork he laid for various members of the Clan. (Not like that’s a bad thing.)

For the tail end of 2017, the two have joined forces for the duo album, Don’t Sit On the Speakers (Vol. 1).

Longtime Killa Beez will be elated to know that Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Cappadona are making sure the iron flag is represented throughout the 15-track project.

Peter Rosenburg recently broke the single on HOT97's "Ebro In The Morning" in their top five new records of the week. The end of the summer feel good record was accompanied by the official video produced by Nick Rose. "I was really enthusiastic about how Peedi would nail his delivery on a soulful instrumental. He didn't disappoint. " 4th Disciple. The "Good Life" was the North Philly MC's first official release since his single "Spanish Cobain" in 2016.

In addition to the single, the international various artist album "Global Concourse" Vol.1 received its proper notoriety as Global Sounds and 4th Disciple rallied up respected industry artist from five different countries on their Global Concourse Vol. 1 project. The album features Young Noble, Shabazz The Disciple, Bizz "The Prince", Water Team's Dezert Eagle and Sneak Sinatra are a few rap talents present on the album representing for the U.S.A. Additional international acts such Tikal Bey and Lord Fury (Moon Crickets) from Canada, Detin8 (UK) and The Villains representing New Zealand. "The Global Concourse project was a success in many ways, one being that we pulled various talent from all over the world to participate in a collective effort. That in itself was a milestone. 4th Disciple.

In 2017, 4th Disciple produced on various albums including Sean Price album "Imperius Rex" and a joint album with Wu-Tang affiliate Killah Priest "Don't Sit On The Speakers" Vol. 1 featuring Ghostface, GZA, Raekwon and Cappadonna. In 2018 Im striving to give the people what they have been asking and waiting for. I will be finishing and also releasing my debut compilation (Lp) entitled "The Algorhythm", Killah Priest (Ep) "Don't Sit On The Speakers Vol.2", Bizz the Prince (Ep) "Against The Grain", Dezert Eagle (Ep), "Global Concourse Vol.2", and more..." 4th Disciple

Global Sounds content is distributed by entertainment One. In 2017, e one released albums such as 112 "Dangerous Games" and Wu-Tang's "The Saga Continues" produced by Mathematics. "When I received the call that entertainment one was closing their physical department and strictly focusing on digital, I was on board and the timing was perfect. They provided the staff and assets we ask for. This year was about building a foundation. In 2018, we have solid release schedule including new artist and artist coming from a major. I know what 4th can do with the production, I know the finished product is gonna be quality. For me, it's about mastering the timing of the releases and providing artist and labels with a platform for their art. In the digital era, the marketing and release strategies change month by month. You have to be innovative but at the same time stay within the frame of the model and most importantly getting people on board to execute the blueprint. As a label, you have to be a few steps ahead before the wave changes direction. Timing is key". Rhasun

The single "Good Life" and "Global Concourse Vol. 1 are available on all digital stores. .

REUPLOAD: With years of experience in the hip-hop field, Hell Razah & 4th Disciple has certainly paid their dues. As one of standout members of the Sunz Of Man crew, Hell Razah has always been respected as a premier emcees coming out of the Wu-Tang family. Razah and 4th Disciple giving the game what it really needs, that authentic Hip-Hop.

This two-man effort, featuring Hell-Razah and 4th Disciple, is a fierce one, politically charged and musically impressive with Songs like Rebel Music and Article One which are street-level, but political in a sense, unheard since the good old days of (Boogie Down Productions), (Public Enemy). All of this is great, a refreshing sense of hood politics in an age of pop-rap duets and club songs -- but it's all the greater because of 4th Disciple's production. He contributes most of the beats on this album and they're all stimulating, original, and dense. They're distinct and never routine, sometimes powered by samples, other times strictly beat-driven. When you have both, great raps as well as beats as you do here, you have a classic album, and Freedom of Speech certainly stands out as a surprisingly classic.
