Despite speculated reports, family members, through Nature Sounds Records, confirmed to HipHopDX this afternoon that veteran Brooklyn emcee Hell Razah is presently recovering from an undisclosed emergency surgery. The onetime Sunz of Man member was rushed to a hospital Tuesday (April 6) and underwent surgery. With respect to the situation and developments, Razah’s family has not provided further details at this time.
What the family can confirm however, is that the circumstances typically require several months of healing. Therefore, earlier speculations about Razah’s abilities and present condition remain premature. The results of this recovery are unknown, but family, friends and fans are asked to pray for a full and expedient recovery. Family has labeled this week’s circumstances to Hell Razah as a “serious emergency.”
Additionally, Nature Sounds said that the 33 year-old born Chron Smith had recently turned in his Heaven Razah album. Razah’s sophomore solo album, a sequel to the acclaimed 2007 release Renaisance Child, is set to feature R.A. The Rugged Man and Timbo King with production from Ayatollah and Havoc. Heaven Razah will feature the Ayatollah-produced single “Kids In The Street.”
Having released several collaborative albums since Sunz of Man, Razah was believed to be also finishing a second T.H.U.G. Angels album with former Sunz partner Shabazz the Disciple as well.
As a solo artist, Hell Razah has appeared on albums from various Wu-Tang Clan members including GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man and U-God.
With medical bills mounting, Razah’s family has expressed some need for financial assistance. Interested parties may gather more information by contacting info@nature-sounds.net.
