INFO: When you are affiliated with arguably THE premier hip-hop group Wu-Tang you are going to have to do something to make your voice heard as you are basically running with the wolves and I first heard Christ Bearer on the Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai - The Album on the song 4 Sho Sho with his group mate Meko( Northstar ) and when they eventually had their first album released Northstar I've been a huge fan of both since then.
While not fully solo on this album( there's a guest on every song ) Christ Bearer on each song carries it like it like it and is never over shadowed by the frequent guest( which is a claim a lot of known artist can't say ) especially when one of those guest is other affiliate Holocaust who also has a cult following and is known for jacking the spotlight from other people's songs( Slow Down might be my fav song from this album ).
This album serves a dual purpose as it reads like a love letter to being a part of the affiliation known as "Killa Beez" but also has every song tell a slice of life tale with the only song that comes close to what you can call gangsta rap would be "Merked". Even then it's a tale of hearing about or seeing the aftermath of street violence and it is here that guest Red Koolaid comes real close to stealing the song spotlight( just like he almost did on "The Sting" and "Slow Down" ) and it should also be pointed out that thankfully the song titles match the topic of the songs with "Da Bee Hive" being the only questionable one as it is about them going to clubs to pick up women in a really I guess you could say classy way( a shocker in this day in age of a club song that doesn't make you want to punch out the people who made the song ).
The sound mixing on this album is great as it hits that sweet spot in that the beats don't drown out any one and the production is really well done and G Swizz who handled the production here really outshines Christ Bearer's long running producer Skarekrow( not to say his production style is weak now it's just that he has a long running list of great production and out of nowhere has a run for his money ).
From hard underground hip hop fans to borderline hip hop fans I can not recommend this album enough
